    Within the jagged coastline of eastern Liguria between the Punta di Montenero and Punta Mesco, there are five villages or, as they said in the past, five lands: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza e Monterosso.

    This area, rugged and steep, has been made unique by human hands that, over the centuries, have soothed its hills by building the typical terraces, used for olive and vine cultivation.<\/p>\n

    Once fisherman and peasants\u2019 villages, the five towns reflect themselves in the shimmering water and the tall colorful houses rise on cliffs that have apparently been stolen to the sea.<\/p>\n

    The Blue Path, a panoramic trail offering hikers incredible views of the Ligurian Sea and the surrounding nature.<\/p>\n

    The Italian poet Eugenio Montale wrote a lot about this amazing place, that used to be his summer destination.<\/p>\n
